Tower Of Zkal

This maze is damn hard. Follow this coordinate list exactly. Oh, and it also drains your MP, so pack tons of Energy Potions.
See Harehunter's Hint below.
Tower Of Zkal 1) Make your way to 42,1 and hit the lever through the fake wall to the west. This will make your escape easier.
2) From there, go to 36,3 and west through the fake wall.
3) Go to 25,7 and north through the fake wall.
4) Down the west wall is a passage filled with force barriers, at the end of which you'll find a chest with 300gp and 4 Medium Energy Potions.
5) Go to 3,1 and south through the next fake wall.
A) Take the portal "A" which takes you to portal "B". Kill the enemies there. (Portal "B" will take you back to portal "A".) (Portal "C" will take you to "c"; walk through the fake wall to the east to exit the tower. 6) Dispel the barrier at 9,45. Go south, then east through the fake wall.
7) Kill more monsters, and go north through the fake wall at 14,39.
Take the portal "F" there. (Portal "G" takes you back to Portal "F".)
8) Go northwest to 3,17 and north through the fake wall.
After that, follow the path and take the stairs down.

Other points of interest:
4) 300g,  4xMedium Energy,    10) 2x Weak Energy Potions, 2x Potions of Doom    11) 10x Arrows of Life, guarded by a vampire,    12,13): 2x Weak Energy Potions, 1x Potions of Doom, past secret door and barrier.    To get to 13, you need to use Portal "D". Then you have to use Portal "E" to escape.
Yep, another floor of MP-draining crap! And more undead creatures out to kill you.

As you come down the stairs in the north, there is another hidden cache through the secret doors just to the south of you; more energy potions.
Tower Of Zkal (L2) 9) Go southeast to 16,32 and north through the fake cave wall. Take the portal there which lands you in the southeast room with 5 portals.
10) The central portal will take you back to the first one. The other four portals will return you to itself, unless you take them in this order:   northeast, northeast, southeast, northeast.
11) After that, go northwest to 32,41 (fake wall). This room is divided in two by a row of fire barriers, and each half has a line of moving walls moving north and south. The easiest way through here is to stand in the secret door until the walls coming at you turn from basalt to mud (indicating a change in direction). Follow the wall one space, cast fire barrier to your north pinning that block above you. When the walls to your right pass you on the way down, step NE past the block you pinned and run through the Fire Barriers to 31,36 (fake wall) and run through to the west.
12) Here's an ugly part. Once you walk through that wall, make sure you cast Fire Barrier to your north and south. Hopefully (if you had brains) you cast Magic Map on this level, so watch when the wall above you turns yellow, then step through the barrier and move north. When the wall reaches the top of this hall, pin it in place with another Fire Barrier. Walk through the door at 31,28. It's not locked; just run through to the east. Don't take the portal here yet; it returns you to the western cavern. Just move east and north into the mage Zkal's home. The room to the north of the entrance hall has Ember Flowers. Lots of them. Get them.
13) This room has several hraiths imprisoned by runes. If you want, you can ignore them, but they will inflict a fair amount of damage as you pass.
14) The northeastern room is trapped with moving walls. All you need to do to get past them is block them with Fire Barrier, but remember - the lever to open the portcullises is at the northeast corner of the room. After you pull it, get to 39,9 and walk into the room to the west.

Timeto fight Zkal! He's a Lich, by the way. Capture Soul him if you can. There are also two demons here, and everything in that room's going to start
summoning. Needless to say, heal up before entering here and PACK AREA EFFECT SPELLS.

My advice - Antimagic Fields. Lots of Antimagic Fields.

Once he's dead, pull the lever to the northwest and return to the chamber at 35,23. Loot the chests for:
-Bronze Ring
-Bronze Serpent Ring (3)
-Ring of Weight
-Ring of Endless Magery (40)

The Ring of Endless Magery can be used 40 times and restores 45 MP each time. I suggest you hold on to this for major battles, like Rentar-Ihrno.

Now to get out. When you killed Zkal, you kinda spawned a crapload of undead all over the tunnels, and that's not a good thing.
If you don't want to cheat, trek back through the caves and out of the tower.

Harehunters Hint: Because of draining effect on your MP, this dungeon inspired what I call The Mad Monk Squad. They aren't really mad, they're not even angry. They are so called because it is considered madness to diversify the training of mages and priests to include skill with melee weapons. It is considered normal to strictly specialize these characters within their one skill set. Mages should train only mage skills, not priest skills or combat skills. The same goes for priests. But the Harehunter contends that in situations such as this, when your spell casters are nullified, being able to swing a sword can be the difference between success or failure.
