There are two ways to get here. You can get here by starting near the spider caves (Northwest Of Harston),and going underground then north. An alternate route is to wait until you have gotten Shanker's quest, "Skull of the Black Wight" and approach this area by boat.

First you will have to pass through a mausoleum. When you near the gate at the far end, you will trigger a mess of undead to rise from their coffins. Once you have killed them the gate will open. Head north and walk the eastern perimeter until you have killed all the undead there. Buff up and attack the black wight on the podium. Read the book for a point in Enduring Shield.

Use the secret doors to bypass the locked gate. Ring the gong and fight the undead. Now the nearby gate should open for you. Go up and kill the undead around the upper area. Make your way to the altar and kill the ruby skeleton. Claim its gems and the wave blade on the altar.

Once you pick the job from Shanker's island, return here to get the black wights head. Take it to Shanker for your reward.

Rabbit droppings: This area is why I like to train everyone to level 3 priest. For the cost of 13 skill points at party creation time, each PC starts out knowing Repel Spirit. By the time you get here, even your low intelligence fighters have enough spell points to do major damage to the undead here. More often than not, my fighters can inflict more damage with a 1st level repel spirit than they can with swords or even poles.
