THE OUTDOORS

• There is a group of bandits wandering around here demanding 25cp to leave you alone. Kill them to get 100cp and to complete Commander Ko's quest. Report to him in Motrax's Lair for your reward (10xp, 1 rep).
• Vail the Scrivner sells a nice collection of scrolls, if you feel you need them.
• There is a band of Empire troops in the eastern part of this area.

LAIR OF MOTRAX

Quests Find Drake Tooth - 25xp, 1 rep, Strength Bracelet Kill Brigands - 10xp, 1 rep

• Commander Ko has a quest to kill the brigands in the area outdoors.
• The secret passage behind the barracks contains some giant lizards and a fire lizard. No reward, just xp for killing them.
• Motrax doesn't have much to say of importance in this game.
• The three deadly traps require Tool Use of 25 to pass. Damage is random, but very deadly.
• The alarm trap requires Tool Use of 30 to pass. You lose 1 rep if you try to pass without disarming it. In addition, the whole town becomes hostile. Trying to get out is near impossible. The guards are bad enough, but having to fight Motrax and those blasted golems is downright deadly under any circumstance.
• (There is another way to pass the alarm trap using the Fight/End strategy described in the Cheats section.)
• The treasure contains 2 rubys, 3 emeralds, 3 iron bars, 1 silver bar, 1 amber and 380cp laying on the floor. The chests contain, from left to right: 1- 270 cp, Jeweled Ring; 2- Ring of Great Health; 3- Warrior's Bracelet; 4- Gauntlets of Might, mandrake, 1 ruby.

• Talk with Enla to get the third drake fang quest (giving her one gets you 25xp, 1 rep, and a Strength Bracelet).
• Go west, and you'll find Linda, the crazy demon-summoning mage from Avernum. Check the east wall for Safe Travel 3.
• Go and talk with Ostoth to get hints on where to find Mass Healing 3.
• In the rooms south, there's a key you'll need eventually, as well as some good loot for plundering.
• Go east and check Motrax's bed for Mass Healing 3.

• Ask Enla about Garzhad. She will tell you that you need quickfire to pass some strange barriers. She will indicate you need to talk to a powerful vahnatai mage.
• Ask Ostoth about Angierach. He will tell you about the code hidden in his dresser back in the Tower of the Mage and the key to gain access to his room.

REMOTE CLEARING

• The Remote Clearing does not show up on the map. There are regenerating patches of healing and spiritual herbs here. You can only get here after talking to Rose in Formello.

LIZARD LAIR

• The Fire Lizard eggs on the first level are the object of a subquest for Suzanne in the Tower of Magi.
• On the upper level, the eastern Drake Egg is in a trapped nest that you *will* take damage from.
• The drake guards a nest that contains another Drake Egg and a Shielding Ring.
• The path to the book that teaches Light L3 is blocked by a stalagmite. You need Move Mountains spell L2 to pass it.

ISOLATED HOME

• You have to have the Orb of Thralni to get here.
• Tori will give you important information on how to find Thompson.
• Ethridge will sell you the recipe for Heroic Brew.
• Be sure to talk to the cats!!
