Chitrachs galore, again. Fortunately, there's a lot of caches here too. This region is dominated by a large lake, with an ogre sitting in the middle, and rimmed by submission fungi (one step up the fungus ladder). The ogre is the goal of a Fort Dranlon job, so at some point you will want to take him out. Be careful, Swamplouse is tough. When you attack him, he summons several fungi to help. On death he drops a mercuric leather, leather with a penalty to strength but a bonus to AP. He's got some other nice goodies, including a knowledge crystal, in the nearby jars. Try to pick up any rocks you find nearby, as they could be swamp nodules.
You can get under this level by going to (NR) Near Fort Dranlon and taking the stairs down and heading east. Underneath are a bunch of chitrachs. Near the center of the area is a "Eggtender chitrach" which is nastier than most. Kill it and it will drop a serpentskin helmet.
