Head to the island and talk with Goodwife Amber. She is weird. Take some tea with her, then kill the shade. Go down the nearby hatch, and go smash the crystal (grab the herbs in the cabinets as well - includes one mandrake). Return up and Amber is normal again. She gives you all herbs other than mandrake as a reward/apology.
Explore the passageway to the east for a pair of swamp pants behind some fungi.
