THE OUTDOORS

• If you leave Avit without learning the language, some wandering Vahnatai patrols will attack you. Also the ferry to Egli will not take you there until you learn their language.

AVIT

Shops Bott: Food

• Talk with all the characters here for what information you can get.
• There are some alchemical herbs around town.
• Bott sells food. He will try to sell you a secret for 50cp. It is a hidden Acid Spray scroll behind his house in the southwest corner of town. You don't need to pay him to find it.
• Talk with Bon-Ihrno first. Then perform the Ritual of Welcoming in the Meditation Chamber. Touch the pools from left to right. This will enable you to communicate with the vahnatai, allowing you to enter Olgai and learn to read their magic books. You also get 10xp for completing the ritual.
• Iglit tells you about the tests that will allow you to see the Council. After you have talked with Iglit, Forla-Te will explain the rest about them. If you have completed the Coffin Caves puzzle and visited Dahris-Bok as well as completing Chapter 2 by arriving here, then you will not need to perform any of the tests. I recommend taking them anyway for the experience points.
• You can get a hint about the hidden Vahnatai key from someone in Olgai, but you can grab it now if you want. You'll need it later.

EGLI

Quests: Find Drake Tooth - 25xp and Intelligence Bracelet Retrieve the Mica Tome - 20xp and the Phoenix Egg Shops: Lith: Sells crystals (unshackling, recall, piercing, stoneshatter) Oratem: Sells potions, Identification; Buys stuff Seno: Mage Spells - Capture Soul, Simulacrum

• The fine crystals and ceremonial dagger are marked not yours, but they are easily stolen if you can get Seno to leave the room.
• In order to cast the spells you buy from Seno, you will need a Soul Crystal. Lith tells you to find Abra to get one. He is at Resting Cell #4.
• Once you have the Locate Borgia Toadstools quest from Julz in the Tower of Patrick talk to Clodeca about them.
• You cannot get in to see Rentar-Ihrno easily until you have recovered one of the stolen Crystal Souls, but you will need to get to see her before then. Talk with Oth-Ihrno and ask for his help. Once you have done this, other vahnatai will give a hint as to the location of a secret passage to her laboratory. You can find the secret passages on you own.
• Feel free to loot the storage room.
• The small demon and the chitrach are pets of Rentar-Ihno. Don't attack them. Don't try to steal the torque and the Wand of Binding in her lab; you can't get her to leave and you will all die instantly.
• Once you trigger the demon in Rentar's quarters, you are sealed off from her lab. You can only escape by a secret passage to the north (which isn't there until you trigger the trap). You can find them in the northeast room.
• Once you retrieve one of of the crystal souls Rentar-Ihrno will give you a quest to Retrieve the Mica Tome. Completing this quest will give you 20xp and the Phoenix Egg, which will be needed to retrieve one of the crystal souls.

TEST OF STRENGTH

• Choose either your fighter or your priest to do this one. Go in and hack everything to kibbles. There are 2 springs hidden here which'll give you a few HP and MP if you need them. There's also a very nasty ruby skeleton, which is why I recommend taking the priest. Search for secret doors and eventually you'll finish without hassle.
• You get 10xp for completing the test.

TEST OF SPEED

• Choose whoever has the highest tool use skill or your mage to do this one. There's lots of quickfire, which is a pain. A few locked doors bar your path, and you've got to turn a wheel to open a gate. Take the lower path and ignore the goblins. If you've got enough resistance you can just ignore the quickfire and instead grab all the treasure to the north (it's nothing great).
• You get 10xp for completing the test.

TEST OF PATIENCE

• Doesn't really matter who does this quest. Walk along the path, ignore the wheel and the hidden lever, then make it to the lever that makes crates. Pull it, and pilot it out to the water area, and take the upper path. I'll let you figure this out, but it's not too hard. Then just keep pushing the block up the stairs. The block won't fall off the cliff either. Move back onto the rune, and uh oh! Just push it south through the secret door. Jump down after it, and move it back onto the rune.
• You get 10xp for completing the test.
